Averil Drummond was born in London, England, in 1952 and migrated to Australia as a child. She lives on five acres in the beautiful lower Hunter Valley, north of Sydney, Australia, with her husband, the cat and three spoilt horses.

about the book

“Am I in danger, Mah?” Mia whispered.

“No darling, I’m with you, you’re perfectly safe.”

But is Mia really safe?

Somewhere in the universe, the planet Gloam revolves around its sun-like star.

On its surface, the Glumps work, play, laugh and love as they always have.

But Gloam has a message for them, and very few are listening.

At an animal sanctuary two rangers, Freedon and Glydon, compete for the love of the director, Kiera. Both will win, and both will lose.

Rosee, a teenager will be thrust into the adult world long before she is ready, as everything that she thought secure, collapses around her. She is taken to the land of the mysterious Glia, a place that she could never have imagined.

A civilisation will be torn apart, but two lovers reunited. A child is born, perhaps the last of his race?

As the storms and floods continue, the planet and its inhabitants commence a long journey to recovery.
